How to choose your first vibrator in the UAE
A practical guide to picking a first vibrator: external or internal, size, noise, charging and materials — plus what to know about ordering in the UAE with cash on delivery.
Start with how you want to use it, not the shape
Most first purchases go wrong because people shop by picture. The useful question is simpler: do you want something that works on the outside, something that goes inside, or both at once?
That single answer cuts the range in half.
- External only — a bullet, a wand or a suction head. Easiest to start with, quietest, and usually the cheapest.
- Internal only — a smooth vibrator, or a dildo if you do not want vibration at all.
- Both at once — a dual-action model, where a shaft goes inside and a second arm or suction head stays outside.
Size: smaller is not a compromise
The most common mistake is buying the biggest thing in the picture. Girth matters far more than length for comfort, and a 3.5 cm shaft is a genuinely different experience to a 4.6 cm one.
If you are unsure, start narrower. You can always add a second item later — starting too large is the one mistake that puts people off entirely.
Noise — it matters more here than in most countries
A lot of people in the UAE live in shared apartments or with family, and the honest answer is that no motor is completely silent. What differs is the pitch: a small bullet hums, a rotating or telescopic device is noticeably louder.
If quiet is a priority, stay with external models and avoid anything described as rotating or thrusting. Our product pages say plainly when something makes noise.
Charging and waterproofing
Rechargeable over USB is the norm now and means no batteries to hunt for. Battery models still exist and are cheaper, but you will want spares on hand.
Waterproofing decides how easy cleaning is. Anything described as water-resistant can be rinsed under a tap. If it is not, wipe it with a toy wipe instead — do not submerge it.
Materials, in one paragraph
Medical-grade silicone is the safest and longest-lasting, and it is what we use for anything that goes inside where possible. TPE is softer and cheaper but more porous, so it needs more careful cleaning. ABS is the hard plastic used for bodies and handles. Metal is used for plugs and rings and holds temperature.
Whatever the material, use water-based lubricant. Silicone-based lubricant will damage silicone toys.
Ordering in the UAE
Every order on this site is cash on delivery: you pay the courier in cash when the parcel reaches you, and nothing is charged online. Parcels travel in a plain, unmarked box with no product or brand names, and the waybill shows only the courier and your address.
Delivery is 1–3 working days in Dubai and 2–5 working days across the other emirates. Free over AED 200, otherwise a flat AED 25.
Questions
What is the best vibrator for a complete beginner? +
An external model — a bullet or a suction head. They are the smallest, quietest and cheapest, and they let you work out what you actually like before spending more.
Do I need lubricant? +
Yes, and water-based. It is safe with silicone, TPE, ABS and metal. Silicone-based lubricant damages silicone toys.
Can I use a vibrator if I have never used anything before? +
Start on the lowest setting, over clothing if that feels easier, and give it a few sessions. There is no correct way to use one.
