How to make a suction cup dildo actually stay put
The four steps that decide whether a suction base holds — the surface, the cleaning, the press and the release — plus why it keeps falling off on certain walls.
The surface decides everything
It sticks to smooth, non-porous, flat: tile, glass, polished stone, enamel, the side of a bath.
It does not stick to painted plasterboard, textured walls, wood, fabric or anything with a matte or grainy finish. No amount of pressing fixes that — the seal needs a smooth face to form against.
Clean both faces first
Dust and body oil are the two most common reasons a base lets go. Wipe the base with a damp cloth and dry it, and wipe the surface too.
A base that has been sitting out collecting dust will not seal until it is washed.
Press from the centre out
Place the base flat, then press from the middle outward with the heel of your hand to push the air out. Pressing the edges down first traps air under the middle.
Give it a moment. The seal forms as the material settles, not instantly.
Getting it off without damage
Slide a fingertip under the edge rather than pulling straight out. Pulling can mark a painted surface or tear a soft base.
If it is stuck firmly, work around the rim rather than yanking.

Questions
Why does my suction dildo fall off the wall? +
Usually the wall is painted or textured. The base needs a smooth, non-porous surface like tile or glass.
Can I use it on a shower wall? +
Yes, if the tiles are smooth and clean. Soap residue weakens the seal, so rinse the area first.
Does heat affect the suction? +
Warm water softens the base slightly, which can help the seal form — but very hot water can distort a soft base over time.
