The bullet: concentrated and small

A bullet puts the motor in a small head, so the vibration is concentrated rather than spread. That makes it feel stronger than its size suggests, and it makes it the easiest shape to use precisely.

It is also the quietest and the cheapest — our pen-shaped one is AED 180 and the smallest thing we sell. If you are unsure whether you even want vibration, this is the least expensive way to find out.

The suction head: pressure instead of buzz

A suction device has a small chamber over the surface with a diaphragm pulsing air in and out. The sensation is pressure and rhythm rather than vibration, which is why people who find vibration numbing often prefer it.

It needs a seal to work, which means placement matters more than with a bullet. Get it slightly wrong and you feel very little; get it right and it is the most effective of the three for most people.

The rabbit: two things at once

A rabbit has a shaft plus an arm or head that sits outside, so internal and external stimulation happen together. It is the most expensive shape because it has more of everything — a longer body, a second motor, and usually a rechargeable battery to drive both.

The catch is fit. The external arm has to land in the right place for your body, and if it does not, the whole thing is awkward. A rabbit is a second purchase more often than a first one.
