Where will you keep it? Storage, decided before you buy

The question to answer first

Before you compare two products, decide the answer to one question: where does this live when it is not in use?

If the honest answer is "a bedside drawer", that rules out most of the catalogue above 2 kg. If the answer is "under the bed in a box", you have far more options. If the answer is "I do not know", the answer is a smaller product.

Matching storage to weight

• Drawer (bedside or wardrobe) — up to about 2 kg, and it should fit with the lid closed without pressure on the item.
• Shelf or wardrobe shelf — 2–4 kg, ideally out of direct sunlight.
• Under the bed in a hard box — 4–9 kg. This is where the moulded torsos belong.
• Nothing suitable — the honest answer for an 8.5 kg piece in a shared flat. Buy something else.

The practical rules

• Store flat, not leaning. Soft materials deform under their own weight over months.
• Keep it out of sunlight. UV is what degrades the surface fastest in this climate.
• Store it dry. A damp item in a closed bag is how mould starts.
• Store soft items separately from each other — two TPE pieces pressed together will mark.
• A cotton bag or a plain box is enough. It does not need to be a purpose-made case.

If storage is genuinely limited

Buy the smaller version of the thing you want, not a different category. A 825 g torso and a 1.9 kg hip piece use the same space if there is a box involved; an 8.5 kg torso does not.

And if space is the constraint, the flat products in the catalogue are worth a second look — a textured sleeve folded into a drawer occupies less than a phone.
