Storing toys in UAE heat: what actually degrades, and how fast

Sunlight is worse than heat

UV breaks down soft materials faster than temperature does. A toy left near a window — even behind glass, even in an air-conditioned room — will discolour and go tacky long before one kept in a drawer.

Move it out of direct light first. That single change does more than any product you can buy.

Then the bathroom

A bathroom combines humidity and warmth, which is the worst pair for TPE and for anything with a battery. Mould on a soft item is a real risk in a UAE bathroom, not a theoretical one.

Store in a bedroom drawer or a wardrobe instead, and keep the bathroom for using, not for keeping.

Batteries and lubricant

Lithium cells lose capacity faster at high temperature. A device left in a car in summer can be permanently degraded after one afternoon.

Lubricant separates and degrades in heat too. A bathroom windowsill is the single worst place for a bottle — a cupboard is fine.

• Out of sunlight — a drawer, a wardrobe, a closed box
• Out of the bathroom — bedroom storage, not bathroom storage
• Dry before storing — every internal channel, every time
