Dildos: the four decisions that actually matter
A complete guide to choosing a dildo — girth before length, what the base decides, when material matters, and how the finish changes the feel.
1. Girth first, length second
Length is printed on every listing because it is easy to measure. Girth is what decides comfort, and it is the number most listings leave out.
A 3.5 cm shaft and a 4.6 cm shaft are genuinely different experiences at the same length. Our range runs from 3.5 cm to 6.5 cm; if you are unsure, start at 3.5–3.8 cm and go up on a second purchase.
2. The base decides how you use it
Suction base — sticks to tile, glass and polished stone, so it works hands-free on a floor, a wall or the side of a bath. It does not stick to painted or textured walls.
Flat or rounded base — sits in the hand or on a surface, and can be held in a harness. No suction.
No base at all — only for use with a strap-on harness, where the harness holds it.
This is a functional choice, not a cosmetic one. Decide how you want to use it before you look at the shape.
3. Material: silicone unless softness is the point
Silicone is non-porous, cleans properly, and lasts years. Almost everything in this category should be silicone.
The exception is realism — a softer material feels more lifelike, at the cost of a shorter life and more careful cleaning. That is a trade, not an upgrade.
4. Finish changes how it feels more than you expect
A matte finish holds water-based lubricant better and feels warmer. A glossy finish looks more realistic but the lubricant slides off faster.
If you have only used glossy ones and found them dry, try matte before assuming lubricant is the problem.
Sizes across our range
13 cm at 3.8 cm — the starter size. 20 to 21 cm at 3.5 to 3.8 cm — long but slim. 21 cm at 4.6 cm — the realistic moulds, noticeably thicker. 37 cm — the double-ended one, flexible along its length rather than rigid.
